Have you checked if the network manager is running ?
Code:
ps aux | grep NetworkManager
If it's not running, try to start it
Code:
sudo service network-manager start

I have seen the same error message. When starting kaiengine without root permission, you will get the error. You have to run kaiengine as root permission. Open a terminal and enter the following command:
Code:
sudo ./kaiengine
Thanks
I do that and it says command not found.

what kind of NIC are you using (model #)? If you have a spare NIC laying around try using it instead.
I'm using the one in my Acer Aspire 5336 PC.

I run Ubuntu 12.04 and I downloaded/extracted kaiengine-7.4.18-linux-,86.tgz. And when I click on kaiengine it looks like it's about to start up and then pops up with "No network interfaces detected."
Clicking "Execute in terminal" does nothing.
