AdhocToUSB on Vista/Win7 x64 FAILPROOF METHOD.

Hi all, I need a bit of help since I did something stupid. Anyways I followed your instructions and ran inf-wizard.exe but I couldn't see anything that said PSP although there was a device there that said interface 1 and a mass memory storage that said interface 0. I clicked on both and they both said Sony manufacturer so I clicked on next for both and installed now the drivers.

How do i uninstall those drivers that the program installed for me?

My PSP was detected as a type A psp, i cant see anyone else on the UI, and the bridge wont detect my PSP...

Alright for those who did step3 and it didn't work out right. Let me rephrase step3 a bit.

Step 3
- Download and extract this archive. http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/project/libusb-win32/libusb-win32-releases/1.2.4.0/libusb-win32-bin-1.2.4.0.zip

- Plug in your PSP.

- Run your game (I went to online gathering hall in MHP3rd too)

- While you're still in-game in your PSP. Run bin\inf-wizard.exe from the extracted archive in your computer. (here's where people got strayed off from the procedure if you're not in-game that means you're in USB mode in your PSP and the inf-wizard.exe will detect your PSP as PSP type A)

- Hit next.

- Find and select your PSP in the list(it's supposed to be PSP type B here), and hit next.*

- Hit next again and save the generated INF file anywhere you like. It may be deleted afterwards.

- Hit Install Now.

btw zedd56 did add a remark in step 3 but most people (including me) didn't care to read it and wasted a lot of time trying to get it work.

Ok so, I accidently did it on my type A, and now my computer will no longer see my normal usb mode and won't let me into my files and stuff.
Luckily I can still get into it through the recovery menu, but how would I go about undoing the type A one.

I did it on type B and got xlink kai working and all, but I'm stuck with having to use the recovery menu as my usb mode.

Same problem here.

Mine showed up as PSP Type A, and can't connect. When I plug it in while in MHFU's online gathering hall, Windows tries (and fails; MS wouldn't have it) to install a driver for "PSP Type B" and consequently I can't connect to the Bridge.

If I go to USB connection in the XMB "PSP Type A" shows up as being connected, and then I can't access the memory stick through USB. I had to uninstall the driver every time I wanted to while trying to get it working, which was incredibly annoying.

I also tryed installing the drivers manually from HtS's guide, but I couldn't get that to work either. So I don't know what to do now :c

EDIT: I'm on a PSP 1000 running 6.60 PRO-B10.1 in case that helps.
Also, I did try turning the AdhocToUSB plugin on and off, and it seems to have no effect on being able to access the memory stick either way.

EDIT2: Okay I figured it out. DERP

I skimmed right over the tiny little part in the OP that indirectly states you need to be in game for it to show up as Type B, and figured it out after rereading Jiharun's post

For anyone else that comes across this problem:
YOU NEED TO BE IN A GAME FOR INF_WIZARD TO INSTALL THE DRIVER CORRECTLY
IN GAME = TYPE B
USB CONNECTION = TYPE A = WRONG

If you go to Device Manager and delete the PSP A driver the USB Mode will work again. Exclamation

5tev3n, I suggest you turn off all other psp plugins, double check to make sure that you've followed step 2 correctly, and make sure you restart your machine when necessary.

The only interfering elements I can think of are other PSP Plugins. Maybe try another usb port or cable as well, I guess.... basic troubleshooting. I can't really tell you what's wrong for sure, but I guess just go real slow and give it another try! Let us know how it goes Smile

My friend tried installing this, and unfortunately, he missed the implication that he had to have his PSP on into a game in network mode, so he installed Type A... So now we know why the bridge.exe couldn't find his PSP and stuff.

Problem is, when he tried running the inf-wizard again, it didn't find his PSP, not even for Type-A this time. I use an adapter, myself, so I'm not quite sure how all of this works...

So does anyone know why the installer may not be finding his PSP now? I think it still is reading the previous installation, so it's not letting him install it again. He uninstalled libusbdevice and PSP Type-A from device manager. What else should he remove for a clean install?

You wont need the inf wizard you just need

1. Download and install Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider-->http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/Driver-Signature-Enforcement-Overrider.shtml

2. Google for "jjs.at lwbridge" and download the PSP_Type_B_libusb_1.2.2.0.zip package its the latest next install the driver via inf file installation--> http://jaxov.com/2010/08/install-libusb-windows-7-vista-64-bit/ unpack the archive go to step 8 and continue to step 16 thats it. The inf file if youre asked to choose is called PSP.inf or just PSP if show file extensions is disabled. Here if you want to enable it--> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/show-or-hide-file-name-extensions

When youre done it should look like this--> http://s7.postimage.org/g4hhv9w61/Untitled.jpg? in your device manager.

That helped a lot... He installed PSP Type-B and restarted his computer, but bridge.exe won't find the PSP. It's plugged in and in adhoc mode... The plugin is enabled, and his device manager looks like the picture you posted. No other plugins that could be interfering... I'm not sure what could be going wrong now.

Does bridge gives any error ? Like libusb0.dll missing ?

It did at first, but that was worked out. It just never finds the PSP after choosing the loopback adapter.

Just as a test go to the site where you downloaded the psp type b driver but this time download the libusb_WinUSB_bridge_v0.2.zip package. Unzip it and extract the libusb0.dll from the bin archive. Now drag and drop the libusb0.dll onto the bridge.exe and restart bridge and check if your psp is detected.

Dragging and dropping the .dll into the bridge gets an error:
"Entry point not found"

But the bridge.exe works fine by opening it normally.

If you have remote joy lite installed disable it, the psp type b driver can only use one plugin at a time.

Well, he doesn't have Remotejoy. I made sure his other plugins were disabled either way, though.

What CFW do you use ? Have you the right plugin version and entered the path of the plugin in game.txt correct and is it active in the recovery menu ?
