After installing Xlink Kai version 7.4.18 on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, then I right clicked on "Start Kai", click run as administrator, click compatibility check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2), apply, save.
Double click on Start Kai..comes up with Xlink Kai Engine has stopped working.
I've re-done everything per the following suggestions below:
These did not solve the problem. I also tried a few other compatibility modes and they did not work. I also get the same error if I try to run "configure kai". I assume this is why no configuration file has yet to exist at this location C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\XLink Kai (nothing in this folder now --before cccleaner and 2nd install there was some avatar folder appearing)
UAC (User Access Control) is off - was off - is always off.
Windows Firewall - OFF
Antivirus - using avast! - disabling that did not help.
............I'd love to play some Red Dead with my x-box buddies :)
