xlink UI stops working

Lately I've been trying to play MHP3 with some friends through xlink and all goes well after some finagling for a while. But on my computer, the xlink UI seems to stop working over time. The first symptom is that I can't see anything I type in the channel I'm in. Shortly there after I won't be able to leave or join rooms. And the final symptom is the game I'm in will drop connection. At that point, if I try to type in a channel the UI will close, but the engine remains running. I can right click on the engine icon in the tray and open a new UI, at which point everything resumes from the beginning without issues.

The time to the first symptom can be several minutes, but I usually get anywhere from 10-20 minutes of game play before my connection drops. Needless to say, this hurts my ability to do any serious hunting.

This seems to be related to the kaiUI.exe program, the web UI seems to be working as expected.

Addendum:
The web UI seems to experience the first symptom as well, but it never progresses past that and eventually stuff I type will show up in a flurry of missed messages. Game play was solid though for well over an hour.
