Greetings, fellow Kaiers. I used to play on Kai a long time ago with my friend, but we sorta moved on to other games, so we stopped using Kai. Since then, I got a new router when I switched ISPs. My router, which is also my modem (they're built together) is a Centurylink ZyXEL PK5000z router/modem.

I downloaded the new version of Kai, and when I tried to connect, it just stopped my router from connecting to the internet until I closed Kai out. I searched around but could find nothing on my problem, no one seems to have my router, and I searched for it in the compatability section, but I didn't see it; I might not have searched hard enough.

I read somewhere that if your router uses UPNP, you don't need to portforward; my router does. So... what do I do? Again, I did take the time to search, but I might not have looked in the right spots. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Have you checked if both Upnp options (upnp and upnp nat) are anbled ? Have you checked if your router firewall is blocking the traffic ?--> http://qwest.centurylink.com/internethelp/modems/pk5000z/pdf/PK5000Z-ADV-firewall.pdf

Thanks for the reply, giggy. Yes, both upnp and upnp nat are enabled, and the router's security level is set to 'off'. Now that I notice, the 2nd option in the firewall section is: "Select the IP address or IP addressing type to which the firewall rules should apply." The 2 options are 'All Dynamic IP Addresses' and 'All Static IP Addresses'. Which should I use?

I found out what was causing the problem, I think. I had to launch Kai through the GUI instead of the Web UI; it gave me the prompt for Windows Firewall to allow the program. After some more troubleshooting with another issue, I'm online and playing.
