Searched around and couldn't find anythig that addresses my specific issue.
I am running Win7 x64 in a VirtualBox on Ubuntu 11.10. I have my VirtualBox network adapter set to bridged mode to get a local address on my router. I have version 7.4.23 of Xlink Kai for the new game protocols installed on Win7.
I have set static ip's to my RGH Xbox360 (192.168.1.30), Ubuntu (192.168.1.10) and Win7 VirtualBox (192.168.1.20).
I forwarded the ports UDP 30000 and 34522 to the Win7 IP. Using an open port checker, the 34522 port is open. The 30000 port is not.
I boot my 360 into FSD and it tells me Xlink Engine is not found.
I have been at this for a few days now, can someone help?

Receiving of UDP broadcasts is not reliable:
The guest does not reliably receivebroadcasts, since, in order to save resources, it only listens for a certain amountof time after the guest has sent UDP data on a particular port. As a consequence,NetBios name resolution based on broadcasts does not always work (but WINSalways works). As a workaround, you can use the numeric IP of the desiredserver in the
\\server\share notation.
