Guess who's back!!
Ok, so i got the update, and i put in my mac address for my xbox and bridge. Just to clarify:
"REAL" MAC Address == Xbox
Virtual MAC Addrss == wireless bridge
is this correct?
I still can't see my xbox or games, Please let me know if i have it set up right. thanks
EDIT: i just realized that my bridge has 2 MAC addresses, i guess one for getting the wireles and one for the ethernet. Which one do i use?
EDIT2: also, my kai engine is still crashing when i restart my xbox. I have no clue what order to start everything in (xbox, kai) i'm pretty sure that kai crashes when i launch halo from XBMC as well. Why does it crash like this?
thanks... |

well i've only been trying to play xbox online with wireles for 2 years now, so i'm commited!! heheh.
Ok, so i have those MACs set right.
and i have to do this with JUST the engine because otherwise xbmc will crash the kai gui i think.
Well, i see nothing, no games, i can browse rooms, but see no games, i could do all of this before.
now what. |

Launch kaiConfig.exe
At "Close engine after" select "Never" from the drop down menu.
Try that to see if the "Kai engine" shuts down after you start xbmc. Check your taskbar.
Edit: Best select the arena first from the Pc before trying the game. |

So which mac adress you choose from your bridge ? The wireless or the ethernet one ?
I did not manage to make it work at this time.
do you use winpcap 3.0 or 3.1 alpha ? |

These 2 MAC addresses each represent one of the Wireless standards supported by the bridge. One should be for 802.11b communication and the other for 802.11g communication. The one you use would depend on the type of router receiving the signal. Simple way to test it is to try one of the MACs.. if it doesn't work, try the other. Or, if you already know which one is which..... well, you get the picture.
Hope this helps. |

No, the B &G are the same MAC
The bridge has 2 MAC's because one is the Cat5 LAN port and the other is the WLAN (Wireless LAN) MAC
I belive you use the bridges LAN MAC. |

Thanks for the correction. Now that I think about the theory behind it, this makes much more sense. The bridge receives wireless on one port and forwards to the other for all MACs, thus changing the MAC in the IP header to reflect the LAN port of the bridge....
Man, I need to brush up on my protocol analysis skills...
So yeah... the REAL mac is the address of the XBox, the virtual mac is the LAN port of the bridge... |

hey DIE-HARD.... I"M ONLINE!!! I've been playing Halo and PGR2. Tonight is the first time i've tried since the REAL update was released, i fired up KAI and it updated to the official update and it all works great.
Thanks for the MAC address support guys. this RULES! of course this is what happened with 1.0 and then 2 days later i couldnt play, but we'll see, i have faith this time.
2 years of trying to get my modded xbox online with wireless with different apps, and finally i got some support. Thanks |
