Hi guys,
Ok, this is my setup:
D-Link DSL-G604T (Wireless ADSL Router) WIRED to Xbox running XBMC with Kai all setup.
Wireless link to PC (with D-Link DWL-G122) running Kai.
Right, all works ok between pc and xbox (ftp, ect). I get net access fine within XBMC on the Xbox.
I can start Kai on the xbox, see areans, games, I can chat, join arenas, see lists of names & games in USA, Europe ect ect, but .....and here's the problem:
When I then click play, say on Halo2, the xbox starts up Halo 2, I then go into system link, but I can't see a game.......same with any other game. I've tried this in game rooms and in just teh Halo2 room but to no avail!!!
This tells me that my router & kai on the Xbox and PC, must be set up right otherwise I wouldn't see ANYTHING, but I do see everything within Kai in the xbox ok. BTW the relevant ports are forwarded ect.
It's just when the game starts I can't see the system link game but Kai seems to be working fine..odd
Any ideas folks?
TIA all, hope you can help me fix this whilst I still have hair!
Cheers
Steve
BTW - everything works as it should when I have a cable between my PC and the Router which leads me to believe that the router is set up ok, it must be a problem with my wireless connection and kai (as the wireless connection works aok for everything BUT kai!) Any help greately appreciated. |

10 to 1 its your firewall mate - I had the exact same problem, could see games in XBMC but not in the game itself, and it was because the firewall was blocking the in-game connection. |

nope, tried that. I've forwarded ports on the router, shut down zonealarm and I don't use Windows Firewall!
Any other ideas? theres quiet a few people with this same problem as I keep getting PM's from them asking if I know how to fix this yet.
Looking forward to getting this working...I hope
Cheers

Have you tried putting the PC running xlink in the DMZ of your router.
If this fails and your still desperate get JKaiUI and use this to run xlink worked first time for me.

I'm guessing there is a bug in Kai......which will never get fixed......oh well.
Cheers guys for the offered advice.

Well, I posted this question about my new equipment which I belive should have worked (as the PCI card was listed as Kai compatible) - the thread is here and locked http://texas.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=107548#107548.
For the benefit of those having the same problem as me (which is lots of you judging by the amount of emails I've had since I first posted here.), here's the answer I recieved via MSN:
I was told catagorically that you cant have your PC wirelessly connecting to the router.
Even though this setup seems to be like one in the Kai help section, apparently you MUST HAVE THE ROUTER hardwired (not wirelessly) conected to your PC.
Now if this is right, I don't understand why there needs to be a list of compatible PCI cards??? If you have to have you PC and router connected physically, when will you ever use a PCI card?
If this advice from the helpful chap on this board is incorrect and there is a way of geting Kai to work when:
1) your PC is wirelessly connected to the router, and
2) you can see your Xbox, and
3) Kai can see your Xbox, and
4) the consol detect program can see your Xbox....
but it just don't load games.....please reply here
Cheers

Cheers Biffa! You the man!
You have saved me alot of messin about! I just thought I was doing something really simple wrong!!
Nevermind, hopefully the boffins at Xlink will sort the wireless issues out soon!
Just a quick question, why in the xlink config is there a wireless button to enter the real & virtual MAC address? Is this for the CONSOLES wireless adaptor??
Anywoos just curious about that last question, not got a wireless console adapter, it's wired.
GOOD WORK ON THE COMMUNITY EVERYONE! HOPEFULLY I'LL GET IT UP AND RUNNING SOON AND COME AND KICK ALL YA ASSES!! Or just stand in a corner making plasm grenade fireworks in Halo!! Hehe Oooooo aarrrrrr! Pretty colours! Laters |

I have the same problem, and I even have the Xlink PC connected wired to the router (DI-624), not wirelessly.
I can even use the built-in Xlink program in XBMC and navigate through games and arenas, chat and so on. When I choose to enter an arena, the game starts. But when I try to find the game in the system link menu, nothing is detected.
I've consulted the Step-by-Step Troubleshooter...
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/help.php?a=1
...and it tells me: We suggest you get some one-on-one support from here on in, so please fill in a Help Request form on the Official XLink Forums and post it into the Help Requests forum. A Team XLink moderator / administrator will try to respond as soon as possible, but no guarantees are made.
I did that quite some time ago, but no response. So now I'm seeking the forum for help...
Help? |
