FFXI Beta-testing for the Xbox 360!

Anyone of you here an OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) subscriber?

I just got newest issue and reading through it, i found something astonishing!

OXM says that their upcoming issue will have the FULL Final Fantasy XI game on the disc!!!!!!
And you'd able to beta-test the game, months before it releases!!!!!
You could send in suggestions, comments, ideas for improvement, etc.

And you don't have to have Xbox Live Gold, you can do it with a Silver subscription.

So, OXM subscribers, I'll be seeing you online in FFXI in a month! Smile

so we have to a Subscriber? i.e. cannot just go to the shop and buy that issue? Confused

but anyways... what they doing is nice. better then we buying a full game to beta test for them Evil or Very Mad

I'm just not sure if it'll come with a demo disc... Confused

I know in the U.S. you can get OXM in stores with the demo disc..It's much much cheaper to subscribe though. The cover price is $10, or you can subscribe for like $25/year. I have no idea how much it goes for outside the U.S....

i have a subscription and no xbox 360 so if the disc isn't on the store ones i'll glady "give" mine to someone :]

Ok, so I received the new OXM issue today, and I got the full beta-test game of FFXI, but one problem....

I have no Xbox 360! Shocked

And everytime I come in my room the disc is sitting there, staring at me and begging to be played.

Doesn't that suck? Sad

Yeah, it may not be so good, but it's the first MMORPG on Xbox and right now it's free.
When the beta-test ends, I'm going to have to buy it to try it out.

You mean download the FFXI beta? It's not a demo, it's the full thing.
I don't think you can download it.

What will suck is when you are a beta tester and you get alot of good items and your level is really high then they end the beta test and wipe(delete) the characters and servers. They should make WoW for 360 that would be killer.

They are already saying it may be possible to carry your character and stats into the retail version.

Yeah, you'll be able to carry your character over. Even your friends list would be saved.

i just got the disk for ffXl its the game but like everbody else saud its a beta tester so if anybody got a ? just ask aight peace.Oh beofre i forget the download times is atleats 2hrs and u need a harddrive with atleast 5 GB.

Just picked this up in the shops yesterday after noticing it in another forum. The install only took about one hour for FFXI but the registering and PlayOnline viewer install took about 30 mins too.

I'm gonna start today and see if it's any good, though i've still not decided on class/job yet. >_>; Maybe a Tarutaru White or Black Mage. What have other people been?

The demo beta was hell. First you had to install and input details for Playonline. Then download an upadte.

Then you had to install FFXI which took an hour. Then you had to register separate details for that. Then download an update which contained about 800-odd files. Rolling Eyes

After that, I couldn't be bothered with the game, not to mention the seven gigs it took up on my HDD so I went back to Hexic.

Damn, that game's addictive. ^_^

I think this games blows, but I've never liked RPGs. When I kill....I want dynamic....I want to push buttons and create combos in real-time. And reading all that crap is just not fun to me.
