N00b question

Hello,

Just got my xbox and just downloaded xlink.

My setup:

Belkin wireless router - only connect to the ADSL
Laptop connected with a wireless Netgear PCMCIA card
Xbox connect to the laptop with a crossover cable.

I cant get xlink to work, I have the latest XBMC which has the option in it to use Xlink but it cant find anything telling me that 'The service is not connected' !

I have looked in the forum for the same setups but nothing helped as I am a complete noob, would anyone care to help !

Dont bother I'll use XBCONNECT, they have friendly mods there that dont mind people asking questions...seeing as thats what a forum is for IDIOT !

wow .. theirs a setup guide for XBMC in the download section of teamxlink ... not that it matters now .. have fun on xbc , see if you can connect that to XBMC .. haha ..

Hey yuor right I've seen the error of my ways and Xlink is the best for tunneling and this is a better community....

*Got connected with XBC in under 5 mins, if there are other people looking at this thread wanting help with xbox online dont hold your breath and go to XBCONNECT

Two things about XBC for any 'other people'

1) This guy is from the uk, so am I, frequently XBC users kick 'the british guy' as despite a lower ping, we are not liked. I have rarely come across this in XLink apart from a few times when I have had to ask people from boston for my tea back.

2) I got connected in under 5 minutes to both services as unlike Nerd.Geek I spent my teenage years in school learning how to read. He spent his chasing sheep and aksing his mother why she called his brother dad.

Personally,

I got Xlink up in 5 minutes. Got connected and played a game easy breaze.

I installed XBC. Got connected. Couldn't join a game. Couldn't host a game. Wasn't sure if XBC had detected my Xbox, although it said so somewhere in the settings.

Bottom line, Xlink Kai ROCKS!!!!!!!

Hey I agree that guy was a tosser, but I too would really like some help and have yet to find any. Even if it was a go read the guide post I'd be happy, cos I cant find anything to help me.

To recap if you havent read my 'lock up in racing/flying page" Kai works a treat in all sections APART from the driving section which is where i would prefer to spend most of my time. It just freezes and I have to restart Kai. I can join Halo games no probs, but once it generates a list of driving games, or TRIES to, it freezes.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Dont worry, all sorted thanks to MeanMF. Had to delete a folder.

I play on Live , Xlink and XBC !!!
XBC=Lag ? WTF . You've played in the wrong servers man .
And as for the instal. part , Xlink is the most difficult to instal .
XBC was like 5 sec when i installed it .
Anyway what i wanted to say is that Xlink is still the best tunnel prog .
But don't flame the shit out of new guys joining Xlink !!!

Those who read the guides and other such information that we go to great lengths to write, will not get flamed. If he had spent 5 mins just having a quick look through the foum, he would of seen what the procedure is.

Maybe i speak for myself, but i tend to read the instructions on anything new i install/Play/Use

We're not flaming the new guys. We're simply handing back the same rudeness that is extended to us. People come here and start topics because they dont feel like reading the thread that is above the post that they are making. That is flat out rude and disrespectful. He expected us to fix his problem which he could have fix within 5 minutes, most likely less than that.
