Halo... NMP!!!

I'd like to see a Halo NMP section in Xlink. That alone would clinch the title for XLink being WAAAAY better then XBC.
And this way, the modding community can grow along with XLink.

For those of you looking at me like Shocked

Halo NMP is a standardized Halo mod pack, that has some actually good mods in it. It's easy to install onto your HDD and will load the same exact hacked maps for everyone who installed it correctly. In short, it's the easiest way to set up hacked games and not have problems.

I have to usually set up locked games and find ways to get my buddies the pass while in Xlink. This way we can just show up and go.

I don't see how adding another section for this could hurt. Then again, I really don't now the inner workings of Xlink.

I think most of hacked levels in Halo NPM are not that good... there is a couple of really fun maps but i don't know if this would be a good idea for Xlink (at least for now).
I know there is people that really like hacked MP maps, in that case there should be a section in this Forum.

ACDIBG is enough reason for me.
I ment that I think there should be another spot in the FPS section in the Xlink app itself. Right under Halo so a person could get a hacked game anytime.

I think Halomods.com has the forum end of it down.

I have the NMP files, but haven't bothered patching yet Confused

Can someone tell me where cache03.map will be after loading a map? I'll go install it and try it out, then I'll vote Wink

[IXS]eXodus it depends where the xbox feels like putting them.
But mine usually end up in Y:.
The only possible places are in X:, Y:, or Z:.
They're not in a sub folder so they'd be easy to spot. and if you use boxplorer to look at your partitions they'd be in the partion with 13mb left.

I don't know about just those maps, how about just a halo w/mods section. That way the host could tell what PPF's are nessecary to play and where to get them. That has a lot more possibilities then just 1 mod pack. IMHO

It leaves some flexibility, because there's some amazing mods at HaloMods.com, I can't wait to try some out now I know where to look for the cache file Razz

I think this would be a great idea. Especially seeing as I rarely play Halo without any hacks. I'd rather if it were just a Halo with Mods Arena and not specifically NMP but I definitely agree with you Odb718 about ACDIBG. That's one great mod. I also like Sniper's Paradise for single flag CTF.

I have NMP but i dont have any other custom maps yet because im going to get a halo map switcher if there is one to make it as easy as possible! P.S my buddy StealthAssassin has the custom maps to so add him if you want! peace

Does anyone know if the NMP works with the original Halo disc or do you need Halo on the HDD to get it to work ?

Just new maps. Single flag CTF is already in Halo Wink

Ok, to get NPM running u need to "put" some files in Halo/Maps directory, so if u have the original Halo this would be impossible. But dont worry, there are solutions.
1)You can make a copy of Halo in your HDD and add the NMP mod. (do you have a modded Xbox???)
2)You can burn a DVD with Halo NPM.

(I think) * If you have played Halo NPM once, the maps u've played will be saved in X,Y or Z. After this, if you try your original Halo disc you'll still see Halo NPM 'coz your Xbox doesnt need to write UI and MAP files in X,Y or Z again 'coz they are already there. So if you wanna play the original Halo again youll have to clear X,Y or Z (where the Halo cache files are). If you dont have a modded Xbox, just insert any other disc and play it, then try your original Halo again. If Halo NPM still there, repeat this process till the other game you play replaces the Halo cache files with their own cache files.

*Feel free to correct me if Im wrong...
