I'm thinking about buying a GC BBA, but was wondering what the online experience is like with GC LAN games, particularly mario kart? Are they quite laggy or bandwidth heavy?
thanks |

well its just poor design on nintendo's side, but yes online play always will be a bit laggy with the GC. However once you get uste to it it's way fun! |

weird as this might sound, gc games actually dont require that much bandwidth. For example i only have 128kbs up, and so does my m8 who lives in Antwerp. But because we have a very low ping, and are on the same isp, we can play at pretty much full speed.
2 people who have both 512kbs upload, but live further away from eachother, and are on different isps would probably get much worse performance.
generally, if you want perfect speed, you need ping 10-20ms |

Depends on the Bandwidth at your PC, how much of what is being used, processes, the way Nintendo Game Port is setup, the Speed it processes at, and basically, if its 512kbps up on both sides, it shouldnt lag that much, but ya know, even halo lags, but it works perfectly with like 60ms, just depends on the design of the nintendos high speed port, and the way its made... |

Well Nintendo has 2 protocols for their LAN games. 1 is this one the heavy version the other is much more like the Xbox LAN but it's up to the developer which one it chooses. Mariokart uses the heavy one but it runs very smooth on KAI so there should be no problem there! 1080 runs even smoother. |
