Quote:
At least 31 people were killed today on the campus of Virginia Tech in what appears to be the deadliest shooting rampage in American history, according to federal law-enforcement officials. Many of the victims were students shot in a dorm and a classroom building.

Most likely or it will be " The Voices told me to do it" Or "The dog told me to do it."

Voices? Nah.

More like they will blame it on video games as said, or music.

Anyways, one of the reasons they said on the news was that students I guess heard the same guy arguing about an girlfriend. Then the story cam in that he went to the dorm looking for his g/f.

Anyways, its fucked up.

This will not only be a horrific event, but I'm sure Jack Thompson will use this as an excuse to bitch about video games again...

It's sad to hear what these idiots nowadays are doing to harm perfectly innocent people just because they have a few disagreements with the world.

What I don't get is, since there were 2 separate shootings that were 2 hours apart from each other, why the hell didn't the police arrive shortly after the first shooting occurred.

Your right, Jack Thompson is most likely going to use this event to aid him in his pointless fight against "excessively violent" video games.

They mostly did arrive after the first shooting. But thats a huge campus, and to find 1 person would be rather difficult.

Wat a little bitch. Lets blame video games, music, tv for violence. OMG sum one picks a gun up and shoots people. It must be GTA's fault coz they played it ounce. When the real reason is all the violence in the real world between everybody, like this event.

Jack Thompson your scum for using the tradegy for plublicity

and to any victims family or friends i send my condolences

the response time by the law enforcement and the head office at VA was horrible, how could they allow a shooting that had a 2 hour gap? fucking bullshit.

This is a real tragedy. People aren't safe anywhere anymore.

My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones.

It's sad that I am not completely shocked, even by an event as horrific as this.

Peace

Gun-loving student wrongly accused: He is an Asian-American student at Virginia Tech University, whose personal blogs reveal a recently wounded heart and an eye-opening gun fetish.

It didn't take them 2 hours to get there. They believed that the Gun-man had physically left the campus after the shooting in the dorms. At that point they should have notified other locations on campus of this news. That is where they fucked up. But their response time to the second shooting was amazing.

It was on the other side of campus and the shooting only lasted around 2 minutes where he managed to take out 30 students and them himself. The swat team was already inside the building in less than two minutes.

Where they fucked up was not letting the whole campus know there could possibly still be a gun-man still in the area.

I heard that the guy was previously referred for counselling, so the problems were there for quite sometime.

The unfortunate thing about this is that this is happening with increasing frequency in the US:

* Virginia Tech massacre - Blacksburg, Virginia, United States; April 16, 2007

Its such a tragedy and its made all the worse to think that even with more timely / effectively delivered prior warnings there really is no practical defense against an act like this, especially with America's liberal firearm laws.

How do you spot the gun wielding psycho student amongst a crowd of similar aged contempories?

Metal detectors on every door may help, but it would be prohibitively expensive to do this for every college or school, heck any crowded place.

After all who knows where the next gun toting psycho will strike after he picks up his new 9mm and truck load of rounds at Walmart?

The Dunblane massacre forced the UK to radically alter their firearm laws making access to them even more restrictive.

It doesn't solve the problem of violence (kids stab each other with frightening frequency) and of course people can still access firearms but its much, much harder for the average joe to lay their hands on a firearm, and I personally think that this has gone a long way to safe guard UK schools against such terrible acts like this.
