even though i dont have a modded xbox *yet* ive used unleashX on a friends xbox and its the easiest one for me to use so far

i have still yet to try Media Center

I think there no need to mod a xbox just for xbmc
i dont want to mod my xbox because i need it for Xbox live
i got xbox 1

I would have to say that Xbox Media Center is the best as a dashboard, because it has so many features, like kai, watching videos, searching youtube, watching dvd's, a file explorer, and of course you can't forget the MC360 skin! Razz

Though when i need something simple, and small yet powerful I use evolution X, its also good for debug work.

Xbox Media Center is defiantly the best for the end user, while Evolution is great for development.

ya XBMC is by far the best thing the xbox1 ever produced .. if your using unleashX or whatever else your kidding yourself .. if you run games off your harddrive and don't own an HDTV , XBMC actually makes your games look better! .. i mean what more can you ask for!

if you haven't updated your XBMC in awhile i suggest looking for the latest SVN build .. google ' T3CH XBMC' .. your build is old , prolly really old ..

easiest and best way to get all the latest up to date skins for XBMC .. make sure you have the latest XBMC , some skins require newer builds .. enjoy :]

XBMC is worked on everyday of the year , all your other dash boards or whatever haven't been touched in month/years .. switch to XBMC .. really ..

wow .. you think that build looks good ? .. seriously, update .. the stable builds are 2 years old , everyday for 2 years is alot of updates you don't have ..

i have updated to a new SVN build almost every 2 weeks for the last 2 years and everyone of them is stable ..

if your so worried about it put a copy of the new XBMC in a folder on your xbox and launch it from your dash before you put it as your dash ..

no, i actually have 2 xbmc's on my xbox, one in f/apps and the other in e/apps, which is my default, ive seen all the new ones and the 4-2-07 build has features the new ones dont.

the webbrowser would be be the only feature the new ones don't have .. XBMC doesn't remove features .. your most likely using a PIMPED build or some other non-T3CH build that just has some extra icons ..

the new skins are worth getting the new build for alone .. plus sometime after your 4-2-07 build a new version of mplayer.dll was added with tons and tons of updates which make alot of video run better ..

all i'm saying is that it isn't worth it to hang on to old builds because they have an extra 'email' icon or some junk ..

I love XBMC but I use other dashes too. I uses the X3 dash for all the bios and hardware work that needs to be done, I use evox as a secondary dash and I run pretty much everything from XBMC. It works great for a lot of programs. ALthough I need a stable build that doesn't freeze up when I'm streaming media. I have an old build thats like 2 years old because I liek the layout. I don't have to do the whole add source thing when I want to search for my media. Anybody know of a really good build thats pretty simplistic? (as if it isn't simple enough though Very Happy

uh .. you know you can just add the source and it stays there .. you only have to do it once .. easier than that , take your old XboxMediaCenter.xml , copy out the sources part and paste it into sources.xml in the new builds , bob's your uncle .. in the old builds this was all done by editing xml files , how is the new way not way easier!?

i don't understand why everyone thinks XBMC takes stuff out to make it harder to use ..

and none of the new builds freeze while streaming .. trust me .. actually the new builds can stream way higher rez video from joox etc .. than the old builds ..

the best build is the most recent one ..

Thanks hicaow. And btw I'm not saying its harder, I'm saying I'm really lazy. Laughing

I know it stays there but I liked having the builds add the folders that I don't know the location of.. Things like streaming internet radio was really nice to have right away. Thanks for that though. I'm gonna go work on it.

thats all there now .. when you hit the white button and add source you will see folders called ShoutCast / playlists / etc ..

I still use Avalaunch because I installed it when I modded my Xbox. Wink

I have XBMC on my Xbox but it's not my main dash.
