How to Get Online on Phantasy Star Portable for WiFi Max (Or Anything Similar...)
Welcome to my guide. This will teach you how to get online with Phantasy Star Portable.
PhSP is pretty different from other games to get online.
This game adds a Unique SSID to every Party (Game) that plays, which it gives to the Host of the party.
If the Host dosent give the party the SSID in time, they all timeout,
and everyone BUT the host gets kicked out of the game.
There are Seperate Directions for people.
1, is for the Host,
2, is for the Players/Joiners.
Before Attempting this, read it over a couple times, and give other people this link, so they can read it also. it takes time to get this down, because you have like a ~10 Second Timelimit when you initiate, or it times out.
---For Hosts---
1. Host a Game (Choose the 1st Option...)
2. Open up your ZDWlan.
3. Wait for someone to join!
4. When Everyone Joins, start the game. (1st Option.)
Now this is where it gets tricky.
5. When you Start, Open Up your ZDWlan, Press Refresh, click your PSP, and click "Connect This Site". (PSP_AULJM05309_L_)
6. Then check SSID, IT WILL BE DIFFERENT (with added characters at the end.)
7. Go into More Settings... Click change, and copy the last characters AFTER _L_ and paste it into the chatroom
so people can see it.
8. When everyone does their part, you will initiate. Have Fun.
---The Joiners---
1. Choose the 2nd Option in Multi mode (Join Game)
2. The hosts name will pop up, join it.
3. When he starts, the HOST WILL GIVE YOU AN SSID.
The Ad-Hoc Connecting screen will hang until it times out
(thats if you suck at copying and pasting.)
4. When he gives it to you, open your ZDWlan, go into More Settings... and click Change.
5. Add the copied SSID (Case Sensitive!) to the end of PSP_AULJM05309_L_.
6. Hit "Apply". The ZDWlan will reconnect, and your game will initialize. Have Fun!
Yeah, i made this whole thing in a wordpad document, it seemed to be easier.
i copied and pasted, and added the pictures.
NOTE: The SSID CHANGES With EVERY Game.
Every time you play, theres a DIFFERENT SSID to the party, remember that.
NOTE 2: When your done playing, remember to go to "More Settings", "Change" and delete the SSID from inside there, or you wont be able to see any other games.
Edit: Thanks for the Sticky, Team X-Link. |

This guide is awesome, but any word on how non WIFIMAX users will be able to do this? I use linksys WRT54G router to access Kai. Anyone know how I would go about changing my SSID with that. I fully understand the concept as I have hosted a few PS-P games already. I just would like to know how I go about joining someone's game using the Linksys WRT54G since the rares you find depends on the host. I think I have found almost everything a Hunter can find and it would be cool to get some other random stuff. |

hmmm.....
If its another program from ZDWlan, your going to have to find a utility that manually changes the SSID,
I used to have that WRT54G Router to play on kai, but i could never find a way to change the SSID, so i dont know... |
