XLink kai support has been removed from all xbmc4xbox builds newer then and including revision 14099.
2008-07-15 14099 removed: xlink kai.
If you want to use XBMC with kai you will need to use a pre 14099 build!
this build can be found with the help of this thread..
http://www.xbmc4xbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1031&p=10863&hilit=xlink#p10863
some members of XBMC4XBOX are looking at adding kai back into xlink , if you can help go here www.xbmc4xbox.org
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
new builds can be found on www.xbmc4xbox.org
setup tips / instructions.
PLEASE do not try and use XBMC (Xbox Media Center) with Kai as your first method!!! Use Kai by navigating with the PC UI FIRST!!
a good way to run the older version of XBMC is by adding it as an app / game to your newer build and setting the startup window to XLink kai in the older builds settings.
here's the old XBMC setup guide ..

FYI; XLink Kai has not been updated for 3-years, no one stepped up to maintained it yet.
The rest of XBMC for Xbox will still continue to be developed. |

How is that bad?
its a pain in the ass to use it its simply not worth it (with all due respect to RunTime an the XBMC crew)
I think that why leave it ?
I mean, no more hardware coming out for xbox, the project should move on
The XLink feature was just a review to see if it could be done, it could,
but it was very limited, and thats not what they were aiming for. |

Alot of users love using XBMC as there way of playing online as it allows them to go into games without walking back and to there PC if it was far away.
I use XLink through XBMC at times and i like to use it for its nice styled look and features. Your say doesnt determine everyone else, XBMC will live on with Kai in all its recent builds and its not going to die anytime soon |

First of all, my computer is upstairs, I don´t enjoy using xbmc , having to quit one game just to change arenas?,
don´t think so, i´d rather walk to my pc upstairs.
Second. Its obvious that xbmc looks better, but i dont think it offers that much features that make it worth staying in the couch.
And lastly, Who said I was trying to determine what everyone else thought?
notice the "I think" which is normally used to say what you think instead of anyone else |

Don't turn this into a fight about the use of XBMC, this thread is meant to inform. |

I just upgraded my XBMC and now I saw this post.
Does that mean that I cannot use kai anymore? If I can't use XBMC with kai, what other choices do I have? Is there a program or something that I could use with my xbox and XBMC? |

just take an old XBMC build and run it as an app .. set the homescreen to XLink so it loads right to it .. |
Thanks for the quick reply. How old can this build be? The thing is that I only have a very old one (did not kept older version as I upgraded) that came with Auto Installer deluxe something... Will that be a problem? |
