Just spent a while trying to get this sorted. I put it down to a network card driver issue. psSDK detects it in Kai Config. Tool, but not in the UI which leaves me to believe it's not really listening on it. I would've pulled out ethereal, but it's tough over a remote connection |

Nah it's a MAC address issue then - for sure..
Some evox dashes have some sick debug stuff in (i forget the exact name) - but it needs to be disabled.. otherwise syslink is never detected..

hey guys, some new info to chew on... i just installed a new nic (netgear 410tx) which i KNOW works cause i connected it on my pal's notebook and played a couple games of halo on kai at his house.. i brought the nic home installed it and got same story as before. tried on both my consoles (modded and unmodded) also noticed a device failure: Microsoft tun miniport adapter code 10 device cannot start.. any idears? i investigated some issues on a couple message boards and seems alot of people have this error, but no avail. info. at least none that i could find...
tried autodetect and lock, as well as selecting adapter... shows up in ui as .. when i selected it. gonna try to figure out what tun miniport is now.. i am on msn/aim so message me for more details if u wish.
cheers! |

You make it sound like you fixed it with that last post? Is that the case?
To be honest, it sounds like an issue with your laptop more than anything now, especially if a working card doesn't work in there. |

yeah, i got it sorted out.. it turns out that my realtek rtl8139 isnt actually a rrl8139. i bought this laptop from a friend who put an aftermarket modem/ethernet combo card in.. and when i installed the netgear adapter, my laptop auto installed drivers for a diff. realtek adapter alltogether... anyhoo, i got proper drivers, connected xbox to netgear pcmcia adapter and from the "rtl8139" to my router.. everything is brilliant... (in normal kai usage) i am waiting for avalaunch to release an update that supports kai... i can't get the two to work properly right now.. thanks again! |
