Slight error when I press tab

Computer specs:
Athlon 2600
1 gig ram
Windows 2000

Problem: TAB FAILURE, which leads to a danger Will Robinson/System Assertion failure window.

How to recreate:
Open Kai, go to messenger mode, click on Private Message for one of your contacts, and then in either area of the pm, hit tab.

It doesn't seem to effect how to the program works, its just mildly annoying, because I alt+tab a lot, and I usually trigger that error when I alt+tab to Kai.
