hey guys, i've read through all the tutorial pages and threads bout setting up xlink's kai for psp...but i'm not quite sure how to best go about getting my network setup for this, so i thought i'd ask for some help from somebody who knows what to do best.
i have a Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Broadband Router and some Motorola modem and my pc is connected to the router through some Ethernet cables (indirectly, like, router and stuff is downstairs and pc is in my room upstairs)
now from reading the tutorials/faqs, i've gathered that the only way for me to be able to use xlink's kai with my psp is if i buy a wireless network adapter? if so, what would u guys recommend? (i've been looking at http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=43041945&navid=155441519 following a tutorial and becuz i prefer a usb adapter, but idk if it'll fit my needs) or is there any other way i could/should go about connecting my psp to the rest of the xlink world? thanks in advance for ur help! |

hmm...i've already looked at that tutorial...so is the planex adapter suggested in that thread good for me too? and also, i read somewhere that the Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router can be used if it has custom firmware? is that true? |

Really, the only 2 adapters we can guarantee to work are the planex adapter mentioned in that tutorial, or the wifi max.
Others might work if they are said to support promiscuous mode, but it is no guarantee.
As for using the router only, the WRT54G will only work in that manner if it is version 3.1 or earlier. There is a separate guide to set that up as well.

Just so everyone knows, support for running kai ON linux based routers is no longer supported and will very soon be impossible as those versions of kai are going to be disabled. |

personally? I'd go with the wifi max.
and you can probably find the version on a sticker on the router itself somewhere (bottom, sides etc.) but im not positive as I don't have this router.
You could also try logging into the router and the version might pop up in the GUI.

The version number is on the sticker on the bottom. It will say something like "Model No. WRT54G V8", but it's pointless really... |

We can nolonger guarantee that all wifi-max adapters will work with kai. You're MUCH better off buying one of the adapters featured on our homepage http://teamxlink.co.uk/ |
