I want to play. Also notice that this post isn't so old... (in GameCube years)
Play quality doesn't degrade over several miles, but rather in feet.
I'm in Soutnern California. Where be you?
If you're in another country it just won't be playable (in my opinion).
Well, here's to another year trying to revive tehCube!

hey yea i check these forums often, and yea the tunneling of this game has problems. I tried tunneling with some1 in canada and frame rate was like 2 frames per second. However, tunneling with some1 60 miles away from me played perfect. I live in Northern California, in San Francisco, so we may have a decent match.

That Canada guy was fun because the frame rate was slow and made it like a slow motion racing movie Laughing

I'm up for some play, too. I live in California too in Ceres. Razz

Glad to see that I'm not the only(the last) GC enthusiast.

Weekends are when I can dedicate huge amounts of time. Pretty much from the time I leave work on Friday till the buzzer goes off on Monday. I sleep sometime between there, but its not detectable.
I do some random late night gaming throughout the week too.

This week (the one before Christmas) is a bad timing for me as I have to actually begin to shop. I'll procrastinate later. Maybe...

Also, I just signed up on http://www.onlineconsoles.com/
(http://gamecube.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/portal.php is specific to GameCube)

Account: DarkCrystalMethod
Hey look, I can finally include the 'o' in my name again. What a great site!

I'm hoping to learn more about how to hack teh cube without a PSO disk, but mainly I just want it to work.

I figure I'll start by reading this...
http://www.geocities.com/the_psychotic_worm/ssbmonlinetutorial.htm?200820

Enjoy! and See ya Star-side!
ß^Þ

Also if you've got a microphone handy (like a free account on Skype or Xfire) that would help us shout insults at eachother or stragies or at least let us be able to decide on which racetrack or battlearena to choose...
I have Skype(silentdebugger) and Xfire(BillyTheGib) accounts.

hey, cool im always on the onlineconsoles sites. If you want to schedule a time just post up there. However, sadly after next week I will be off of high speed internet for winter break. I am going back home where I only will have dial up. But once I get back, I am up for playing any time.

Also I am pretty sure ive seen that tutorial before and it doesnt work.

Yeah, you tried to play with me, and I think that something got messed up on my end Confused ... Last ditch attempt - I have re-installed "old" (stable) Kai version, and will reconfigure my PC for static IP... Router assigns the same address every time though (192.168.0.103), and this is the one I use in port forwarding, so not sure it will help... I'll PM you for one more try when I am done...

I want to play too but I'm also having problems with this newer version of X-Link. I never had problems before when I played Armored Core Last Raven.

Do I have to assign my PC a static IP address to get this newer verison to work? HELP!

i dont know about for gc, but for ps2 the new version of xlink does not work. Version 7.3.1.7 is the one that works with ps2, and I use it to tunnel gc fine as well. You can find 7.3.1.7 on the home page just scroll down.
