Gamecube games tunnel in slow motion. This was tunneled from California to New Jersey. The only way GC games tunnel decently is if you live relatively close to the other person. I have had successful GC tunneling sessions with someone who lives 60-70 miles away from me. |
and whats this post supposed to accomplish? Those who have played GCN on Kai know what its like. Ive had laggy games but i have also had regular full speed games with someone who lives one state away.
Posts like this kill the spirit of GCN on kai which in turn, kills GCN Tunneling. |

Umm, this is for people who dont think the lag is that bad with gc games and would like to see what we are talking about. I just want to show them what they are getting themselves into. I do have successful gc tunneling sessions with someone 60 miles from me. You don't want to feed people bs about gc tunneling, then when they try it and find out it lags really bad most times unless they live very close to the other tunneler they will be put off and will just give up for good. When people know that gamecube tunneling is really like and they still decide to go through with it, they are going to be much more likely to stick around until they find other tunnelers within a reasonable range of them.
Would you like me just to ignore the problems of gc tunneling then? I think it is good to document what it is like so others can see. Ignorance is bliss is your life creed I guess? |

Yea, sorry I reacted a bit too angrily to that last post and should not have said that. I just got all worked up because I do like GC tunneling. If you actually watched the video you will see that in the description and throughout the video I tell people how to get GC tunneling set up and that it can work. I am not just trying to say that GC won't work at all. In fact I recorded a successful GC tunneling session recently and am about to upload that as well.

Despite my overreaction, I still think there is no problem in showing the people the flaws of GC LAN tunneling. and like I stupidly jumped to assumptions about you. You should not do the same thing about me. I have been posting in this GC forum for the last year when people have questions and I have not seen you around here at all. I stick around precisely because I am interested in GC tunneling and want to keep it going. Your comment about me killing the gc tunneling community really annoyed me since I have been one of the few people that stuck around here to help new users figure out if GC tunneling will work for them. |

Have you actually tried tunneling GC games with someone 3 or 4 states away? I doubt you have because unless your have some insanely fast internet the game would have lots of problems. Yes, other consoles' games tunnel fine over 3 or 4 states or even whole continents, but GC games are built differently and do not tunnel well over those distances.
It can work, as seen in this thread http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38682 if you live pretty close to someone.
Still long live GC tunneling though haha. It just probably wont happen much until internet speeds get insane in the distant future. |

i agree but untill isp's get pressured into doing that its impossibe. so even with the impending doom of xblo in april those games the have system link support will live on forever.
i'm in the process of adding a MoCA network adapter hope it helps considering STO is making xbl and other stuff slow on wifi |
