Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? I think so... 8602 from XBC
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: cable->router->pc/xbox, router is dlink di-514
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? protowall, usually disabled
Operating System? windows xp service pack 2
Problem description? can connect to kai, see pings, join arenas but games are not found on my xbox!
[KaiUserConfig]
kaiUsername=******
kaiPassword=******
kaiPort=8602
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NOUI
kaiNIC=2
kaiLaunch=BOTH
kaiHomebrew=OFF
kaiPAT=OFF
kaiAutoLogin=ON
kaiAllowBadNICS=OFF
kaiWireless=
kaiUI=Default
any help would be much appreciated... thanks in advance :s |

Even if protowall is disabled it could still be blocking Kai (all firewalls work differently). Have you tried allowing an exclusion for 0.0.0.1 and also allowing port 3074 UDP to reign freely ? |

thanks for the response. i just updated my blocklist for protowall and changed the first ip it blocks to 000.000.000.002, hope it helps.
however, last night i connected to a game somehow, but after that, i tried again for a different game and no go.
edit: i dont think protowall allows you to put exclusions for specific ports. |

No it's not normal
Check the firewall's log, it could be dropping a hell of a lot of packets or something? |

well i dunno, i updated my blocklist without the IANA multicast stuff, seeing as the BISS forums suggest not using IANA if i'm a home user. will see how that goes next time i'm on kai, probably later on this afternoon. |

Ok, it almost immediately finds games now but they disappear from the list every now and then... right now sitting at the find game and watching one game pop in and out repeatedly. is this normal? if so, then i guess problem solved. if not, then uh oh? |
