Hey all,

I'm trying to get xlink KAI to work between myself and a couple friends. I am a programmer and am running the Linux version without problems. I've had one person randomly join a game I hosted locally so I know I am not having problems on my end.

I am trying to set up two friends with Windows 7 up with this, but I am unable to do it on-site. I also am not familiar at all with Windows 7.

We are using Halo 3 system link on XBOX 360 to test with. Both are on a WRT54-->cable modem setup. Using the 7.0 version.

I've gotten to the point where one of my friends is able to join my arena and then see my hosted game on Halo 3. However, he is not able to join it. When he hosts, I have the same problem trying to join. We are both listed as reachable.

My first guess here is firewall. He said he didn't do anything custom to his router or install a firewall on his computer. But I picture Windows 7 having a built-in firewall. Is there a tutorial for how to enable XLINK KAI in the Windows 7 firewall? I'd think I could do this myself if I was able to be on-site, but having to do this over the phone with an OS I am not familiar with is too difficult for me. I'm hoping there's a thread on here about the windows 7 firewall that I just haven't seen yet. Or someone has a step-by-step tutorial I could just show my friends.

If anybody has any other ideas regarding why we can see each others' games, but not connect to them, please don't hesitate to share them.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Problem solved .

You can also try to play a Xbox game on Xlink Kai .
Old Xbox games also work on the Xbox 360 & they don't have a ping limit .
