IMPORTANT: THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED TO MATCH MY CURRENT CONFIGURATION!
Is your network reachable?
Yes
Are you using a port-forward?
Yes, I've port forwarded public port 30000 to private port 30000 (UDP).
Is your console being detected?
Yes, it's "configured successfully"
Brief description of your network setup:
My network hardware setup is as follows:
INTERNET <-> D-LINK 604 ROUTER <-> XBOX AND PC (Running Kai)
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it?
Yes, I use Sygate Personal Firewall. I've set up this advanced rule:
Quote: |
Rule Summary:
This rule will allow both incoming and outgoing traffic from/to IP address(es) 0.0.0.1 on UDP remote port(s) 30000 to/from UDP local port(s) 30000. This rule will be applied to Realtek RTL8029(AS) PCI Ethernet Adapter. This traffic will be recorded in the 'Packet Log'. The following applications will be affected in this rule: XLink Kai Evolution 7 Launcher,XLink Kai Evolution 7 UI,XLink Kai Evolution 7 Engine. |
Operating System? Windows XP Pro + SP2
Problem description? I can join a server and I can see the other users in the arena mode but nothing happens on my TV screen.

kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NEVER

Okay first off try and port forward 30000 to 30000 for UDP and then change that in the Kai config to Kai port 30000 Kai deep port 0. Report back when done. |

AFAIK, you don't need to port-forward on a DI-604. Remove port forwarding from the router, and remove it from 'Kai Port'. (Put 0 in the box)
NEVER PUT ANYTHING INTO KAI DEEP PORT UNLESS WE TOLD YOU TO. |

Okay, I turned port forwarding off and I put in "0" in the Kai port and "0" into the Kai deep port. I have no hardware firewall settings enabled at all for my Dlink DI 604 right now. My software firewallsettings are the same as before but my network is still "not reachabel". My console is still beeing detected properly. What should I do now? |

OK well considering you didn't want me to fix this for you quickly, we'll do this the long hard way
Remove 'Driver Level Protection' from Sygate. Public and Private port = 30000 UDP on the router CP pointing to the PC's internal IP (.167 from the sounds of it). 30000 put into 'Kai Port'. |

As I told you on MSN I really do not feel secure about this even though I know Team Xlink is a respected site and that it wouldn't be good for you reputation if you did place some kind of backdoor on my PC or such things so ofcourse I can tell myself that you wont do this, still I really just do not feel secure about this, if anyone have ideas on what to look for in the controlpanel and other places it would be great, I can even send you screenshots of all my setting pages in the router, just ask for it and I'll upload them. Still I appericiate any help from anyone and I would really like to try Kai because I haven't been able to set up either XBC or Xlink Kai to work properly yet. |

With all due respect I see your concerns, but what do I have to gain out of installing a backdoor on your PC? So I can read your essays you wrote?
Follow the previous post instructions and you should be OK. |

I am not sure if you know this or not, but there is nothing we could do to your system with you not seeing it. There is no back door, we are not hackers although you make it seem like we may be devious. We will help you, but I hope you know this is the LONG way of doing things. |

Removed "Driver Level Protection" in Sygate and made the changes to the router that you told me to:
Still the network is "Not reachable" and my Xbox is configured successfully.
These are my Sygate Security Settings:

You sure it's pointing to the correct IP? If that's failing, DMZ your PC for a few minutes (if you're willing to), and try then.
One thing I must point out, please enter Arena Mode before checking if your network is reachable. Sitting just in Messenger Mode will not initiate the test. |

Hey, that did it, after entering an arena my network turned reachable and the console is still configuered successfully, should I make a new help request if I am unable to see any games on my TV screen? |

Can you try it with another game just to see? Do you have Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow? If so go in that room and see if you can find a game. |
