Brief description of your network setup: USB modem, xbox linked by CAT5 cable
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Yes im not sure of the brand will find out
Operating System? WinXP SP1
Problem description? Can join arenas and ping is in check, verified by a few players, but xbox cant see any system link games. from what i read everything is in check and it should pick up games.

Need to configure that firewall to let IP address 0.0.0.1 to have complete access on port 3074 UDP.
Get the brand and we can sort out the instructions, or tell him the above if he knows how to set up exclusion rules in his firewall. |

I guess someone could go download a trial and check out the exact settings, but just have a look for exclusions in McAfee.
OK I'm grabbing McAfee Personal Firewall Plus. I'm guessing the options should be similar to 'Guardian'. |

Well, I got McAfee's trial. Didn't need to do any configuration at all, besides press 'Grant Access' when it popped up. I'm about to test everything out, but just got the TV in use (OC is on lol).
Update: Just had 3 successful connections to 3 separate Halo 2 games. Not one setting I had to touch with the firewall.
Sounds like this McAfee Guardian is some real old version (I could be wrong). Uninstall the firewall, and see what happens. |
