Hi there everyone
please could someone try to help me...
Is your network reachable? yes
Are you using a port-forward? not using a router
Is your console being detected? no
Brief description of your network setup:
Inernet connection on pc via Cable usb modem is shared to nic on pc using ICS.
XBox is connected to nic on pc with crossover cable or I connect xbox and pc together with switch.
I have NO router.
Do you use a software firewall? BitDifender 8
Have added
rule for all kai exes = allow all - tcp and udp all ports
have added rule = ip 0.0.0.1 allow all
have added rule port 3074 allow alll
Have also tried turning FW off.
And compleaty uninstalled it.
Operating System? windows xp
Problem description?
Console not being detected.
I can FTP to xbox.
I can connect to internet on xbox.
I can browse my pc file shares on xbox
But when I run Kia on pc and log in then system link in halo it just says searching for games… for ever.
I can use Kai via XBMC on the xbox and can see the game severs.
On the pc Kai successfully connects to the Orbital Server.
And I can also browse the game severs on the PC and Xbox (using KIA in the XBMC)
In Diagnostic Mode
Its says
Your Orbital Sever is.
UK Core…etc
Puplic IP: ect
Puplic Port: 3263
Network Reachable: Yes
Network card: No traffic.

In the Kai configuration utility select the network card that your Xbox is physically connected to instead of autodetect and lock. Report back after you've made this change. |

How? XBMC just lets you browse arena's the game is the only thing that can see servers.
untick PAT in kaiconfig and see if it makes a diffrance.
If not it's probably another firewall that is incompatable with kai
Also it is impossable that XBMC is connecting to the engine without kai reporting that the console is detected so your story is flawed |

i'm pretty sure that that's what grumpboy meant, you see - i'm using the exact same way...
btw.
it's pretty obvious that i'm not the only one with this problem
one other thing i need to ask while i'm at it...
how long time does the xlink kai software need to update, kai servers <-> pc <-> xbox... and back...??

The games are P2P
Your not talking to the server while playing (not much anyway)
All the server does is authenticate, organize your IP and PORT, and give that info to the orbs which then give them to users. All done very fast.
Then the kaiengine handles it from there.
Im thinking the problem is BitDefender, just another crappy software firewall. Like i said in the other post that was linked here, ill give it a shot this weekend and let you know. |

THanks for the input guys.
But I have compleatly uninstalled my crappy software firewall and rebooted.
And it made no diffrence.
I said before that can browse the game servers what I ment was arenas, NOT games.
I can see the areans via the PC or xbox (using kia via MXMC).
IF I am using Kia on the xbox my pc says UI connected however the Dianostic s still says XBOX not detected and i still can not connect to games on the xbox. |
