First off, Xlink Kai is an amazing concept. I applaud anyone who has dedicated their time and effort to provide a free service to the masses. With that said, I have to note that Kai doesn't seem like it has the community it deserves. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but Kai seems severely underused from my perspective. Conceivably, one should be able to join an arena and start playing, but that has proven to be nearly impossible (for me) as of right now. Am I alone in thinking this?
Also, is it possible to request features? I know I have some ideas that could possibly prove to be beneficial to the service.
Edit: Of course, by underused I mean anywhere other than Halo 2 in South America.
I use a 360 and live in the USA |

Statistics are nice but if you can spare a few minutes to provide your reason or maybe a viewpoint not provided in the poll, that would be nice too. |

Kai has evolved over time. for a service to continue to exist it must evolve. yet the tech hasnt evolved due to console limitations with current gen as apposed to last gen.
Where Kai has been limited on the hardware evolution front, it evolved in the community front. there are a lot of community members that now get on, chat on the forum or in general chat kai. We all get online, and organize games and play when its convenient for us with our busy schedules and time zone differences.
Yes the service is free. Its a 3rd party service not affiliated with the gaming companies. So theres no funding for development except for donations.
Theres the 3 main limitations: Hardware, Money, 3rd party support.
Team Xlink has to do with what they have, the architecture is strongest for last gen games unless you have a Jtagged or hacked console, money funds the development of software and with out 3rd party support there rest fall appart.
The best thing people can do is be active on the forms and make friends and join in on any game nights that are set up. |

I fully understand that no one element is to blame for any shortcoming in the system. If anything, the current gen consoles are the limiting factor. Most people simply don't have the proper equipment or technical know-how to overcome the steep hurdles set by the manufacturer. Which is somewhat understandable seeing how online play is such a profitable market.
About the community, it's exactly as you said; we all want to play games when it's convenient, but being as Kai isn't as widely used as the official services, it isn't always possible to play when it is. That is what I'm getting at.
As for donations, I believe Xlink no longer accepts money. |

try looking for games in the main arena or the main (Whatever game) arena. back in college thats where it was booming but yeah the only thing i can say is tell your friends and spread the word to get more people online. |

The general chat is idle for the most part; at least whenever I'd been on. Those who are in the general chat are either PM-ing our simply idle. The 360 arena is similarly empty.
@[tHc]hicaow I have already gone through the stickies and I'm aware of the ping limits and how to get around them.
Edit: It looks like the bug that prevented player count in arenas from being shown has been fixed. While the player count in the US is low, the arenas in Europe and South America are well used. If you need me, I'll be lagging out of one if those arenas.
Thank you for your input. |

I just wish there wasn't any sub arenas. Only NTSC and PAL arenas would be fine. |
