I find it odd that WIFI (on the pc) is supposedly not supported...I guess that's why I cant get it to work...

"* Wireless connections from the PC running XLink Kai are not supported. There are many incompatibility issues in this setup and most wireless hardware will refuse to work with MAC address translations. Therefore we recommend that the PC running XLink Kai remains wired (to the router or access point) with a CAT-5 Ethernet cable. However, your console can be wirelessly connected, through the use of a Wireless Gaming Adapter or Wireless Ethernet Bridge. Consult your documentation or manufacturer's website for assistance in wireless networking.

Hey man, you seem to be a bit confused. WIFI will be supported in tonights auto-update... but you will never be able to have the pc wireless and the xbox wired. that's what that quote says. here are some working setups:
* xbox wired, pc wired
* xbox wireless, pc wired
* xbox wireless, pc wireless
but not:
* xbox wired, pc wireless

Its not very clear...

So do you mean I can't have my pc wireless and then my XBOX wired to my PC?

If so...that really alienates a lot of laptop users...

I got this working flawlessly, will very little user configuration on my part.
Be sure and enable ICS
Here's my setup:
Cable Modem
|_Router
|_Laptop (running through a wireless PC Card A/B/G)
|_Xbox (hardwired to laptop through a crossover cable)
I set my laptop wired configuration to my xbox to be the following:
IP: 192.168.0.100
SNM: 255.255.255.0
GW: 192.168.0.1 (Wireless Client's IP address)

Also be sure and forward port 30000 UDP to your wireless PC

Hope this helps.

Can N E one from Xlink staff verify this. I am planning on going wireless on both my xbox and Pc but not if it is going to cause an issue with Kai. Another thing, I am never notified of a response to a post even though I have that box checked, so I probably won't know that you have responded Laughing Hint hint fix hint hint

If your laptop is wireless, and your xbox it connected directly to the laptop, isn't that technically a wireless PC/wireless xbox connection since the xbox is still getting its network connection through the laptop's wireless card?

Is there anybody who has a wireless laptop/PC and a wired xbox going into a router?

The wireless stuff is pretty simple... apart from the odd exception, here's how it is:

Every configuration is supported, except where the Kai Pc's *consolse connecting* network card is wireless..

ie

Guy has laptop, PCMCIA wireless card to router, laptop NIC has cable to xbox. Does it work? Yes.. because the *console connecting NIC* is not wireless.

Another example..

Guy has PC in living room with wireless PCI card, also has Xbox in living room with WET11 adapter. Both talk wirelessly to router. Will it work? No.. because the PC's *console connecting* NIC is wireless.

So, if you wanna know if its gonna work... look at ure PC.. Which network adapter (NIC) connects you to your console? If that NIC is wireless, you're SOL.

I get it - You're saying if there was a wireless connection from the xbox directly to the PC with Kai there would be a problem. Sounds like a rare problem...

I think the terminology being used is confusing.
"console connecting NIC"

Why dont you just say if your Xbox has a wifi card...it wont work.

Am I confused?
