I'm new to xlink kai and just started messing around with it. I read that if you flash your router with dd-wrt (which I successfully did) than I can use its kaid feature on the router to do xlink. But than I read that in a new xlink update, this feature has been removed. Can someone please give me more information onto why this has happened?

It was an old feature that was mainly used with XBMC, when XLink was was update quite a while ago the release got removed due to the newer engines running in a way which the kaid build couldn't respond to. I personally with the help of a friend have tested the effects of using old with new and it doesn't work well at all, some things will work but a lot of the required features don't.

Try using OpenWRT instead of DD-WRT.
Many routers use MIPS based chipsets that run
very fine with OpenWRT: i.e. Asus 500gl

You can the use the latest MIPS build on such a router
in cunjunction with either XBMC on a XBOX or FSD on 360.
There is no perceptible advantage in using 7.4.23 on a
windows machine instead.
