Is your network reachable? no
Are you using a port-forward? not using a router
Is your console being detected? yes
Brief description of your network setup: internet into lan card 1, xbox into lan card 2
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? the windows firewall only but i have it disabled
Operating System? windows xp
Problem description? network unreachable, cant see games, cant reveice pm's, and friends cant see my ping or get my pm's. I've tried everything in the faqs and guides I could find and nothing helped, I'm getting confused I hope you can help. Also I've tried ports 3047 and 8062 since I have xb conect as well. Oh and my xbox is softmodded but I havn't tried anything to do with the homebrew at all.

I tried putting it back to 0, still nothing, also nothing with 30000
My internet connection performed 2186 down / 372 up kbps so I guess that makes it a 2mbits connection |

we go by upload when it comes to gaming
But 372 should be plenty
Have you tried leaving the option to Auto Detect And Lock in kaiconfig?
Don't worry about port forwards since you do not have a router. The problem |

Is your modem a router/modem?
You have to have something in there blocking it. |

I didn't know such a thing existed but no its not. I have no idea what could be in the way. My firewall is completly turned off and even if it wasn't its set to allow xlink full access.
I was only rarely able to connect to other games on XBconnect and only ever for Rainbow Six 3. But the fact that I was able sometimes should mean I can here right? |

Should yes.
I would call your ISP and talk with them. They may do some type of port blocking. |

Follow the walkthrough at www.packetme.tk - it's the best walkthrough I've seen for running Kai with a 2 NIC setup. Report back and let us know how it goes. |

Ok I've followed the walkthruogh up until the very end when it says to find "IPEnableRouter/modem" in my registry, when i search for it nothing comes up except a little window that says "Finished Searching Registry"
Any ideas why its not coming up? |

OK, here's my view.
1. The port 8602 forward you made for XBC doesn't actually work - AFAIK, you don't need to port forward this port unless you want to host rooms.
2. The modem is indeed performing some sort of NAT. Give us the model name and I'll confirm that for you. If that's the case, this is where we go from.. |

Theres a couple of numbers on here and I'm not sure which is the model number, nothing really seems to indicate it. There one that says part number now that I take a closer look so I'll try with that one.
Speedstream 5200
Ethernet/UBB ADSL Modem
Part Number: 060-E242-A01
Hopefully that helps.
I'm still wondering why the IPEnablerouter/modem dosn't show up in my registry like it said in the walkthruogh...any thoughts? |
