Help me i keep getting kicked off and its not fun!

Brief description of your network setup:xbox goes to router pc goes to router you know same ol same ol
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? no
Operating System? xp serv. pack 2
Problem description? i keep getting really bad lag and i mean bad then i get kicked off Sad

i love this program but my gaming isnt, help me, my router is setup im using a belkin 2.4ghz wirelessb but my xbox is on a cable i also keep getting kick off your program and it shuts down

Your pc is wireless in other words? That's a no-go.

What's the distance from your Xbox to the pc? And What's the distance from the wlan router to your pc?

the router is wireless my pc runs to the router via ethernet cable and the xbox is also connected via ether cable

Search your PC for spyware. Close down p2p software. Just bring down anything that tries to steal your net connection..

no p2p open and spyware free still lagging badly and the kai engine keeps closing on me

if any one has any suggestions on how to cut back the lag please let me know i just clocked my connection speed and im at 2146kbps so really somewhere around 2.2mbs

Are you getting a strong wireless signal on your PC? If it is too weak, your internet connection could be cutting out. If your internet cuts out at all, you will be dropped from Kai. Find a way to stay online. Ask your isp to check your line.

Look sorry my pc is not wireless either is my xbox the are both running on cables my router has wireless capabilites but my pc and xbox are running to it via ethernet cables. i am getting lag like i was running a p2 chip and 56k modem. im spyware free ad free checked for viruses worked on my router settings and still getting nothing but lag. if there are any suggestions to maybe router settings or xbox settings let me know.

do you have WEP running ? If so try to lower the key to 64bits or not use it at all.

Also i have heard that people scanning wireless networks chews up the access point and drops connections Smile

Is that a possibility in your area.

I think he gave up. He stated over and over that he wasn't running wireless - yet everyone responded as if he was.
