Hello everyone,
I know that there is already a 3DS thread, but please bear with me because this isn't quite the same.
I understand that DS tunneling support was dropped after experiments did not work out back when the DS was still considered modern, but this was years ago where the only way to connect a Nintendo DS to a wifi adapter was by having to use a certain wifi card that used the Ralink RT2500 chipset.
Nowadays, using Windows 7 you can both connect to the internet and share that same connection using only 1 wifi adapter, it has become really easy for the 3DS to connect to a PC.
With Monster Hunter 3G not having an online mode, there are millions of Japanese gamers who are dying to use Kai for their 3DS to play online. And when MH3G comes out in the west, the demand for a tunneling program will be even greater.
Now, I don't know if Team Xlink actually makes money off of Kai, but if they do then I'm 100% convinced that MH3G alone (not even mentioning all the other 3DS games out there) will be a goldmine for Team Xlink if 3DS support was added.
So, while I know that DS tunneling was originally dropped, I ask you to please reconsider because not only have the technological tools for us to work with advanced, 3DS would also prove to be a huge opportunity for Kai.
If there is anything that can be done in order to help make this a reality, I would be honored to help in whatever way possible.
Edit: There is also a thread on GBAtemp discussing the possibility of 3DS tunneling here.
It might prove useful? |

We don't profit off Kai, no. Our sponsors cover the some of the costs and we pay the rest ourselves.
3ds support would be nice but it's unlikely... I don't think any of our devs even own a 3ds to be honest.

Ive seen it work, but it was super buggy. Devs were demoing mario 64 ds's multiplayer. Once the game started it lost connection. This was due to the high standards of something similar to ping, if the NiFi protocol has the same type of structure as common networking. If the project was to start up, i would be down to help but its gonna be very difficult if not impossible. |

I was afraid of that...
Then there is really no way to get this to work, is there?
I guess we'll have to hope Capcom will add an online mode to MH3G eventually.
I just wish I had a wifi card that's compatible with the DS so I could try and experiment myself for a bit. |

the usb wifi adapter that worked had a specific chipset that could only be imported online. it was rather expensive at the time during testing. |
