Red Dead Redemption Cross Platform help

I'm extremely interested in being able to play cross platform on Red Dead Redemption. I have a PS3 and believe I've set up xLink Kai correctly, my Network Reachable is Yes and Adapter is locked. I tried with a friend on Xbox 360 and he had the same showing on his UI, however we could not find each other. He was in System Link (which I believe is the same option as LAN on PS3), and I was on LAN. Basically, as far as we could tell that would be the only way to find each other, just jumping session to session. Are there other steps to take for this? Is there something in the UI for joining a particular session? I did notice when we added each other's contacts within xLink that there was mention of joining when a friend is added but it wasn't any more specific than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Cross platforming is not possible.

I thought that was one of the big pulls of this program? Everything on that question pointed me to xLink.

Well your info was sadly wrong kai supports multiple gaming platforms but this doesnt mean it supports cross platforming.
