If you have experienced this issue or are experiencing it there is a very simple fix, simply follow the below and the error should go away.
NOTE: Your engine can't be running when you are going through the below steps, please shut it down now if yours is still running.
Navigate to your \AppData\Roaming\ folder which can be found at the following location, if your folder is invisible you can simply click the address bar in the explorer window and manually navigate to it.
Windows Vista/7
C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\
Next delete or rename your kaiUserConfig.txt file and run Start Kai again from your start menu
Having done the above you should now be happily playing again on XLink Kai.
