has anyone gotten the webui to work with the internet explore on the 360? im having no sucess and am wondering if it could be the fact the internet explore does not support java or if that is even the problem

The WebUI doesn't use java but it does use flash which Microsoft will never support on the Xbox by the look of their long term plan for IE10 which is what the new dashboard comes with.
The only thing I can suggest is you ensure you have "Allow remote UI connections" checked in your Kai settings then access the UI via your PC's internal IP adress which would look something like the below.
