Is your network reachable? Yes.
Are you using a router? Yes.
Did you set a static IP on the PC running Kai? Yes.
Did you forward port 30000 to the static IP? Yes.
Did you click the globe after forwarding to see if your network goes reachable? Yes.
What console are you using? Xbox 360.
Is your console being detected? Sort of; the console is detected, but it shows up as a PSP.
Brief description of your network setup: Internet->Router, Router->PC, Router->Xbox 360
Model numbers of the router, and modem? Router: Linksys WRT54GS, Modem: Motorola SB5101 (Shaw Cable)
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No firewall, Windows firewall is explicitly turned off.
Operating System? Tried with Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Problem description? When going through the process of having the Xbox 360 detected, XLink Kai detects a console, but thinks it is a PSP. I can then see a friend's game, but cannot join it, and vice versa. I am thinking the two events are related. I have forwarded port 3074 to my Xbox 360. I have also tried both the 7.3 and 7.4 Engines. Another note, the console can successfully host and join Xbox Live games. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: After the time of posting I read a thread about ping times on a 360 requiring <30ms; this sounds like a more likely culprit to this problem than the mis-interpretation of my console as a PSP, but I'm not entirely sure, so I'll leave the post active.

This can happen sometimes as consoles generally share mac addresses but its not that common in my experience as every console I own has a unique mac address assigned to it.
Just so I can confirm could you please post your Xbox mac addresses so I can cross reference them with the ones in our database. |
