Is your network reachable? Mixed (it will after a bit on the program version but does not say so on the UI. I cannot connect either way so probably not)
Are you using a router? Yes
Did you set a static IP on the PC running Kai? Yes
Did you forward port 30000 to the static IP? Yes
Did you click the globe after forwarding to see if your network goes reachable? N/A
What console are you using? Original xbox (CA crystal version if that matters at all)
Is your console being detected? Yes, just no reachability
Brief description of your network setup: Console connects directly into my router. Computer connects wirelessly.
Model numbers of the router, and modem? Cisco - Linksys E3000 (router) Motorola SB5120 SURFboard (modem)
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No.
Operating System? Windows 7 standard
Problem description?
I cannot play on kai. It says my xbox is not yet reachable. I've been trying for a while now. I followed the port forwarding guide, tested it with the PF port tester, and have tried the two versions of Kai - the web UI and the actual program version. The program version says it is reachable after 5 minutes but no servers show up on my system. On the web UI, it's just not reachable.

what game are you using to test with?
Also have you tried pinging your xbox?
Try opening command prompt and type:
Ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
The x's being your xboxs ip address. if you get replies from the ping that
means your computer can see your xbox on the network, If not it could
be the ip's and subnets need adjusted. |

I'm using Halo 2 - pretty much every other xbox game has no one playing so even if it was working I wouldnt be able to tell because no servers would show up.
How do I find my xbox's IP? is it the static IP I set on my computer?
Also, I think it's because my computer doesn't hook directly into my router. It said something like it'll only work if I have a specific network card. |

I suggest you connect your xbox to your pc and bridge the connection.
Click on Start then Control Panel and find Network and Sharing Center. In the panel on the left hand side click Manage Wireless Networks (this may appear as Manage Connections).
In the next dialogue choose Adapter properties and click on the Sharing tab. Enable the first option: Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection and then OK.
More info and help here--> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Using-ICS-Internet-Connection-Sharing
Now setup a port rule for your pcs ip and you should be able to play. |
