Hi, I can't see games when I have laptop connected via WiFi to my router. On enthernet connection is fine.

Hardware:
- Xbox Classic wire connected to router, DHCP, always the same IP adres, can see Internet and laptop
- Router, port 30000 forwarded to IP of wlan or enternet IP's in laptop
- Laptop connected via wire (works) or wireless (halo 2 can't see games), Linux and installed 32bit xlink kai with GUI from website. Manual selected interface in xlink kai settings.

Why this not works on wireless connection?

Hi,

Wireless gaming requires a feature in your wireless router called 'promiscuous mode', this feature allows all traffic to be sent via the local network rather than just frames which don't contain any information about game traffic. This is a limitation that we can't overcome through our software but comes more so down to the hardware itself and what features it supports.

If you can, stick with a wired connection which will work regardless of the console.

The easiest way is to just plug a Ethernet cable from a laptop that also has wifi into your Xbox. I didn't need to change any settings at all it just worked. Very Happy
Ignore the guides just do this method. I didn't need to mess around with port forwarding, ip adress, subnet values, promiscuous mode or dns. I just plugged it in and it worked great on halo 2 on my Xbox 360
