Hi _the_anoni_,

No PS4 or Xbox One games use system link that I know of and in my past testing it's not as simple as the previous generation consoles to get system link over the internet working.

In order to get such a system working we would need to somehow spoof the network between consoles which for the Xbox is particularly difficult due to it's use of Xbox Live for private lobbies and such.

As much as we would love to have these two great consoles working it's just not possible at this point in time.

Yeah, it would literally require reverse engineering the games themselves and also gaining access to propietary info on how Sony and Microsoft's online servers operate which is illegal is most (if not all countries) lol. Not something TeamXlink is about to do. Unfortunately, lan play/system link seems to be a thing of the past.

The way Xlink Kai operates is NOT illegal in anyway as its just uses VPN lan tunnelling to 'trick' the game into thinking the other players are on the same local network as you. No reverse engineering of any sort is taking place. Games that have native support for lan/system link play are compatible with Kai for that reason only. Where none of the current gen consoles (PS4, XboxOne, Wii U) have any games on the market that support local network play, I don't see Xlink support being added to them any time soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Halo 5 (when it comes out) supports lan play though as that has always been a huge staple in the halo series.... Only time will tell, but if Halo 5 supports lan play, it would be silly for Xlink Kai not to support it Razz.

No, as previously stated, the Xbox One uses Xbox Live to connects players to one another, in order to overcome this we like nextgenrules stated, would need to reverse engineer the games to trick them into thinking their on Xbox Live when they aren't which is illegal.

However, Phil Spencer (head of Xbox) announced today that a number of 360 games will be available to play on the Xbox One by the U.S holidays and hundreds more in the coming months. This might allow previous system link enabled games to work on the Xbox One but until I and others get our hands on it we won't know for sure but it may restore some lost interest even with the 30ms ping limit.

Black ops 3 for XBOX ONE is System link
Could be a starting point?? Maybe
SO perhaps System link is NOT a thing of the past
It also has BOTS like BOPS II for practice
Good new I think!!
I just found KAI Detected my Xbox one!!
I started BOPS3 system link and went into options, change public IP to private and kai turned blue showing xbox 360
I hope this helps!

I know someone that did manage to get Black Ops 3 working through lan tunneling with the system link mode on Xbox One. Don't think there was a 30ms ping limit in play too.
