Is your network reachable? Not Yet
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup: 1pc wireless on a router, 1 xbox with utp on a router.
Do you use a software firewall? No
Operating System? XP
Problem description? I have a speedtouch 570 router with a wireless internet connection to the internet. My Xbox is connected with UTP on the same router. I forwarded a port and i configured the same port in the configuration of xlink. I also used the 'wireless translation' option. Please help me!

http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=quickstart (Read about Incompatible Wireless Network Setups).

Btw, port-forwarding port 50 isn't recommended. Use 30000 as it's a private class, 50 could be in use by some other program.

If i take port 30000 the program keeps doesn't go further than 'attaching to orbital'.

One question....Do i have to use a crosscable if i have this configuration?

I specifically highlighted the important part in bold for a reason - your network card drivers don't allow you to perform in promiscious mode. Tell me what WLAN card is in your PC and I will find out, don't get your hopes up. Almost 99% of WLAN cards don't have drivers that let you use promiscious mode, which is bloody annoying.

No need for a crossover cable to the router. However I should point out that the WLAN card not being able to perform in promisc. mode *shouldn't* stop your network from being reachable. In that case I suggest you take a look and make sure port 50 on this modem / router is allowing and forwarding UDP traffic, not TCP.

Oh, and remove the wireless relationship you set up in the Kai Config. Tool.

I would if I were you. It also makes troubleshooting a little easier. So if this is your choice report back when you have it so we know if you are sorted or not. Thanks!
