Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes (30000)
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Xbox to PC, PC to Netgear FR11P router, router to modem. ALL WIRED
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No
Operating System? Windows XP
Problem description? Connects fine, xbox detected, xbmc and ui perfect, however no games in syslink. Tried with Top Spin, Star Wars: Battlefront, Halo 1, XLime and Quake2X. No luck. Unfortunately this is quite a common proplem.
[kaiUserConfig]
kaiPort=30000
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NOUI
kaiNIC=0
kaiLaunch=BOTH
kaiHomebrew=OFF
kaiPAT=ON
kaiAutoLogin=ON
kaiAllowBadNICS=OFF
kaiWireless=
kaiUI=Default
Thought I would update this post instead of making another one. I have fixed the Kai crashing problem and it now detects my NIC and runs fine, but no games. Thanks for any help. |

Nobody said that you could't run Kai without setting the NIC, but crashing often resolves it.
You need to portforward port 30000 UDP to the IP of the PC that runs Kai on your Netgear FR11P. Remember to put 30000 into 'Kai Port' in the Kai Config Tool. This will get your network reachable.

What are your available NICs in the Kai Config. Tool? |

hmm i think I've figured out why it cannot find any games. the kai engine crashes each time i search for games on the xbox in a game (ie top spin, star wars). any reasons for the crashing? i'd post a log but i don't think kai keeps logs.
(oh and its not wireless unfortunately) |

Choose the NIC in Kai Config. Tool instead of Autodetect and Lock. |

Go check manufacturer / windowsupdate.com for driver updates. On windowsupdate.com you have to choose the custom setting because it will come up as a non-critical update. |

Why are you bridging the connection? The XBox *doesn't* need Internet access for Kai to work. |

without bridging ftp and xbmc smb shares don't work for some reason. i suspect the router. however, unbridging seems to have fixed the crashing problem. i've just got to find a game to play, once i get halo 2 it'll be easier to test, no-one really plays halo 1 anymore.
