Is your network reachable?
Yes
Are you using a port-forward?
Yes
Is your console being detected?
No
Brief description of your network setup:
Linksys router (with wireless) to cable modem.
PC to router (cabled) with Norton Firewall
Xbox to router (tried both cabled and wireless, with Linksys bridge, with same results)
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it?
Norton Internet Security. Accepted all requests for access.
Operating System?
WinXP SP2
Problem description?
I can get connected to arenas, both with Xbox (XBMC) and PC but can't seem to get Xbox to connect to games. Also, diagnostics seem to not detect the Xbox.

1. Turn PAT off.
2. Norton Internet Security is annoying. Uninstall it and see if your console gets detected. If it does, put NIS back on, and go from there to try configure it properly.
3. If XBox can't be detected, don't waste your time trying to magically search for games |

Progress!
The Firewall reinstall seems to have done the trick for the cabled access. Thanks.
But this is only a temporary fix. I can't have a network cable running up the hall the length of the house. I need to get the wireless solution sorted for any kind of long-term use.
Any other ideas? My wireless bridge works fine otherwise.
Thanks again.

The bridge will have a control panel you shoudl be able to access via a web-browser. Have a look for MAC address cloning. You want to get it so that the device has the MAC address of the XBox. You can find the MAC address of the XBox from the MS dashboard (somewhere in teh XBox Live settings), or from any decent dashboard (EvoX, Avalaunch etc). |

Ahhh!
I'll give that a try later and let you know. I remember seeing it when I set it up originally.
Excellent.
Thanks. |
