Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Linksys WRT55AG wireless router, but PC and XBox are hardwired to the router.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? I used the built in LinkSys hardware fire wall and foward port 30000
Operating System? Windows 2000 Server
Problem description? When ever going in to the system link menu in any game I never get back a list of games to join (while inside the game).

[KaiUserConfig]
kaiPort=30000
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NEVER
kaiNIC=2
kaiLaunch=ENGINE
kaiHomebrew=OFF
kaiPAT=OFF
kaiAutoLogin=ON
kaiAllowBadNICS=OFF
kaiWireless=
kaiUI=Default

I am using NTSC USA halo and there are people in the arena, same with CS. I have even hosted games just to see if any one would join and no one did for a hour Sad.

I do a netstat -a and see port 30000 on there but I dont notice any active connections. I have tried to telnet in to the port just to see if it is connecting but I can't connect with telnet, im guessing that is just how the program handles communication.

Hit me on MSN sometime after 5pm EST and with your permission I will jump into your PC and see if I can sort it out for you.

Sounds good, only problem is I am at work and then school till 10:30 PM PST. But the 3 hour differnce to eastern leaves me at work at 2PM, I can let you terminal service in at 2PM PST (5PM EST) and you can check the settings, I just cant actually try to see if it worked till i get home 2AM your time Smile

CS has XBox Live updates - you didn't have XBox Live at all did you? THey cause incompatibility with nonpatched CS owners. As for Halo, that has major video region incompatibility (NTSC - PAL etc)

I have never used XBox live, and make sure not to click on Live, just system link.

Do i have to have a certain xbox live bios update for it to work?

Well it could be that you were trying to play with peopel that have got those updates. I can test it out for you now if you like, I don't believe I've got any updates of that sort.

Update: User did not respond within 5 days. Setting to Problem Solved.
