Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? I forwarded port 30,000 on my router, but I have not set it up in Xlink Kai Config. I have done it before and I still had the same problems.
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup: Cable Connection -> Router -> To my PC and Xbox.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? The only software firewall I use is the XP system pack 2 firewall.. that is disabled so my connection is no longer firewalled. I also have Norton Antivirus 2004 Autoprotect which I also have disabled.
Operating System? Windows XP Professional
Problem description? When I connect to a Halo 2 game, everything seems to work perfectly untill I start to play. If I am hosting, when I start the game I immediately get an error message in Halo 2 saying my network connection wsa lost. When I join a game, initially I can play.. but after a few minutes I receieve the error message saying my network connection was lost... and I am disconnected. Xlink Kai runs fine on my PC, it never crashes and I have never received any types of errors. I am wondering if it may can be my version of Halo 2? I am playing a backup PAL version on my NTSC XBox. Hopefully someone can help me resolve this problem. Thanks Alot!

1. Do the whole uninstall, delete program files folder, re-download, re-install, autoupdate procedure as your config is missing a few lines, so you could also have a different engine to someone else which *could* be your problem.
2. Leave 30000 into Kai Port.
3. Does this happen only with Halo 2? |

I recently reinstalled the program because it would not let me log in, it said something about the orbital mesh. What do you mean by a different engine to someone else? Also, how do I autoupdate?

Do you mean change the Kai port from 0 to 30000?

I have only played Halo and Halo 2 on here, unfortunately Halo did the same thing.
Thanks for your response, it is much appreciated.[/quote] |

1. Do the procedure anyway, as you're running a semi-old build. Autoupdate occurs automatically. Just follow those steps.
2. Yes, put 30000 instead of 0 in Kai Port.
3. Give the version numbers of all the components to Kai (right click EXE -> properties) and paste them here AFTER doing step 1. |

OK that looks about right now. If you're still getting the same problem as before, perhaps have a try of removing Norton just for a test. |

Another problem now dfunked,
When I replace 0 with 30000 for the KaiPort and click ok... it doesn't let me log in anymore, it always say requerying orbital mesh when i change the port to 30000, I even tried to reinstall and it did the same thing.. the only wa it works is with the KaiPort set to 0.
Any ideas? |

What router are you using? And in the XLink Kai config tool, change the KaiNIC to the NIC in your PC changing from Auto detect and lock. And what is the KaiPAT settings on or off? |

Okay I have the same router and I do not need to port forward. Have you tried it without using the forwards? Change the KaiPort in the XLink Kai config tool to 0 and make sure that the KaiNIC is the NIC inside your PC running Kai. Report back when done.
Update: User did not respond within 5 days. Setting to Problem Solved. |
