Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? No
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup (include model numbers): 1 NIC on computer (1394 Connection). Connected using crossover cable to Xbox
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No Firewall, XP Firewall disabled
Operating System? Windows XP
Problem description? XBox wont connect, I have made slight progress by reading these forums:
I set config to display dangerous NICs i think.. and then selected my connection. Now the network card is selected and locked with psSDK technology. However, no console being detected. I leave Halo 2 on the System Link screen after selecting a profile assuming this is where it requests other system's data

Um, hehe..

A 1394 Connection is not an actual network card. If that's all you've got in the list then nothing's going to work for you Very Happy Very Happy You'll have to go buy a NIC for yourself before you can do anything. I must ask, how on earth is the XBox connected if you've only got a firewire connection ?

FYI, 1394 = Firewire Wink

I'll set to problem solved until you go source out that proper NIC. Just reply here when you get one - they're like $5..

Edit: Just re-reading things, you say you use a cross-over cable. So that means you do have some sort of NIC in there, but you're probably selecting the 1394 Connection in the Kai Config Tool. You have to select the actual NIC that the XBox is hooked up to not the 1394 connection..

If you don't see it in the list, are you sure it's installed correctly in your PC and that it's not disabled in Device Manager?

Yeah because a crossover doesn't fit in a firewire if I'm not mistaken..

Oh wait wait wait.. my bad!!

I was wondering why it was at 400Mbs for ethernet Razz

The LAN is disabled in control panel, upon enabling it says connection failed.

So in the config tool, its back to Autodetect and Lock as Network Adaptor. (Basically "Normal Kai Use")
