Is your network reachable? Yes, When i disable zone alarm, not sure how to allow that traffic through
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup: D-lin 302g connetced to a switch pc ip=10.1.1.3 xbox=10.1.1.4
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Yes i use zone alarm, when on the network is unreachable
Operating System? WindowsXP Pro + SP2
Problem description? I am unable to detect my xbox, turn off zone alarm, doesnt make a difference, i have forwarded 10.1.1.3 and allowed port 8602, have port forwarded in my modem 0.0.0.1 and allowed 3704 for any protocal
[KaiUserConfig]
[KaiUserConfig]
kaiPort=8602
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=LOCAL
kaiTimeout=NOUI
kaiNIC=2
kaiLaunch=BOTH
kaiHomebrew=OFF
kaiPAT=OFF

Try leaving things on 'Autodetect and lock' in Kai Config. Go to windowsupdate and get driver updates if any also. |

ive got zone alarm to allow it to connect to the network but i still cant detect xbox; does it have an icon and says xbox detected when it is? |

Nah shouldn't. In Kai Config. Tool under 'Autodetect and Lock', was the actual network card that you use to hook up to the XBox in teh list? If you use a USB ethernet adapter, you'll have to tick the 'Allow Dangerous NICs' checkbox.
I think you already have it in the list though, as kaiNIC = 2 when you first started, which means you'd already selected the particular NIC.
It could be Zone Alarm too. Even though you've disabled it, it could be stubborn and stopping it (disabling firewalls does *not* unblock ports).
There's a post made by DIE-HARD about ZA configuration. Search and ye shall find. |
