Here I was hyped about a "multi-platform" console tunnel, only to find out it's the same old "working on a mac version" line.

Except you don't even say you're working on it, you just proclaim the "multi-platform" status even tho you are only on one platform, and prolly will be for a loong time.

I'm happy to answer this.

Kai is multiplatform.. only today i was playing with building the linux engine.. its literally a few days work, and will be done after we 've done with making what we have on win32 stable. As you can see, there are still a lot of little issues which need fixing before I spend the time porting.

I'm sorry if you dont agree with my "develop it on windows first, then port it" way of thinking, but take a look at www.warppipe.com - they decided to work on all 3 at once, and in the time it's taken us to write all of Kai, you still have to manually enter IP addresses....

As long as whoever is coding is aware of / capable of keeping code portable (or as close as possible), then the way we've done it is preferable.

I totally understand the windows first, mac later thing.

I was just annoyed that there was no information on this on the main page.

Would be nice to include it in the FAQ cause I'm sure "where the hell is the mac version?" is a question on many ppls mind.. -.-

t3h, I was working on an application that was to be cross-platform. But if you were in the developers shoes, you'd see alot more why the Windows build is the one to be worked on more. Besides, it's not like the devs are gurus at cross-platform development. They could be trying it for the first time.

I got a Mac, and began to learn Carbon. Now I urge to learn Cocoa, and I'm installing Gentoo Linux on my Mac to also learn developing for Linux. I'm not ready for making anything, and TD is absolutly right. He has much much more experience with Windows, and about %60 of Kai's audience is Windows.

Behave....

Yogi, if you feel so "cheated", deal with it. You should learn to stop asking everything from us when in return you give us no slack.... Confused
