your mac address never changes it is set for the device. as for kaid it requires it to be in a certain format, check the linux section for help on that.

hmm well when i reboot the xbox it gets a new ip from my router then the mac address changes
i.e.
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface
192.168.134.1 ether 00:06:25:7B:18:13 C eth0
192.168.134.102 ether 00:50:F2:00:00:1A C eth0

bash-2.05b# arp
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface
192.168.134.1 ether 00:06:25:7B:18:13 C eth0
192.168.134.103 ether 00:50:F2:00:00:0C C eth0
192.168.134.102 (incomplete) eth0

so i really dont have a clue even when i assign the ip for the xbox it still changes

Your router changes the MAC address? That's incredibly weird Very Happy Maybe the router just reports it wrong..
