OK, im not a complete idiot, and I have read the documentation...

The problem I have (i think) is with how the gui is layed out.

I have Xlink Kai engine running
I have the latest build of XBMC
I run the engine on my PC and then run XBMC on my xbox.
I can see all the games, I am selecting games in my region.
I can get to the game/chat level of a room (does this mean I have joined the room?)

1. should I be seeing MY gamer-tag in the list of users to confirm that I have joined the room?

2. when I see all the other people in a room, does this mean I have joined the room?

3. Do I have to wait for the host to launch their game before I hit PLAY?

4. if so, what is the cue to know I can hit play?

4. What is the "add" button, does this add me to the game. When I hit it, nothing seems to happen, but it only shows up when I am at the room level of navigation.

When I click PLAY and select system link, I see no games.

I have followed the documentation. The problem is: your guide only says "Navigate and Play", which does not help me... I have no problem connecting to the network, seeing games, etc. I just dont quite get how the navigation works... should there be a join button, what am I missing here.

thanks.
please dont flame me, Im just trying to figure this out.

1. No.
2. Yes. You should notice the top bar says the name of the arena you are currently in.
3. You do, but most of the time the game's already going. If you're unsure you can have a look at the icons of the users. If you see lots of joysticks - the game's being played. You can also use teh Chat view to your advantage.
4. Adds contacts to your list. You highlight over an XTag then press add. You won't see status of the contact until they add you.
5. "Navigate and Play" is used, because I'm not explaining WinUI, gKaiUI, ncurses, XBMC and every other future UI in there. The WinUI does have lots of help on what everything does - press the blue (?) button.
6. No "join" button. When you're in an arena, you're in "join" mode so to speak.

k, thanks...

btw, just tried it with the PC UI, and figured it out in a sec, got in a game instantly...

its easier because you can have the xbox sitting on the system link window and wait for a game to pop up... just makes more sense to me...

thanks again... I'll be sure to check this out more when I graduate (1 week), and get on a decent internet connection that doesent lag me into hell (30Kb university connection right now, lol).

peace
