Can anyone who has the following setup reply if they have successfully implemented Kai
Cabled
Broadband -> Netgear D834G
Netgear D834G -> Laptop running Kai
Wireless
Netgear D834G -> Netgear WGE101 -> XBOX
I have tried for days to get the above setup to work.
All I get in systems link is the games list that I can join but every time I attempt to join, after 10 seconds or so a message comes up saying u can not join.
I have tried the following configurations
1) XBOX and WGE101 with same MAC address
2) XBOX and WGE101 with different MAC address and changed the wireless config in Kai to reflect this.
Both options do not produce any results.
So after a week of head scratching I bought a 25m CAT5 lead and hey presto it worked first time.
So I know it has something to do with the WGE101 warless bridge setup.
So my question is has anyone got this working wireless with a Netgear D834G -> Netgear WGE101 -> XBOX setup.
Another question is that in previous post some suggest resetting the MAC in MS dashboard settings, does any have detailed information on this I mean resetting to what is there a set defaults values in the dashboard???
Thanks for your help |

Netgear D834G -> Netgear WGE101 -> XBOX
MAC Address of the Netgear WGE101 is that same as the XBOX
My Question is that if
on my laptop i can see my
1) xbox detected
2) network reachable = yes
Within my xbox XBMC i can see
1) XLink, areans, games etc
Within Halo2 system link i can see
1) games that are being hosted
Should I be good to go?
I know i can play with a cat5 hard wired to router but not with Netgear WGE101 wireless bridge.
please can anyone help!!!!!

should i be good to go or can there be still some problem when i get into system link to join a game only for it to say "cannot not join at this time" |

Netgear's are a piece of shit. I believe someone's had major issues with Netgear and wireless. Have you got XBox Live? Does ti work on that? |

I had an issue some time back with a user using the same wireless adapter. According to Netgear tech support they have had reports of this issue from a number of users, however the feature is unsupported on the WGE101. The reason you can get it to work wired, but it will not work wireless, is because the WGE101 does not, and never will, work with Xlink.
This is directly from a Netgear support rep. If you want me to dig up the thread I'm sure I can find it. Or you can use the search button - it's here in our forums somewhere. |

Thank you for the response
I freaking spent ages on trying to get this shitty wireless adapter to work I had grey hair by the time I gave up.
Question
1) Am I ok with the D834G wireless access point ADSL modem router?
2) If yes to the first question does any one know which wireless adapter is compatible with both the D834G and Kai on the XBOX?
I had some awesome fun with Kai with the wired solution but the misses is a bit miffed with a 25m cat5 trailing from the upstairs study through the hall way into the lounge.
BTW Keep up the great work you guys are the business. Hope you all know how much your efforts are appreciated. |

I've used a Linksys wireless gaming adapter and a belkin wireless ethernet bridge successfully with no extra configuration. The microsoft adapter definitely works, but it's priced way too high imho.
Actually, the only one that sticks out in my mind as not working is the WGE101. I'm sure there are others, but that's the only one I've had major issues with. |
